Silenced

This was a sculpture piece made to represent gender identity and expression. Half of the sculpture is male and half is female, so anyone can see themselves in the sculpture. The sculpture is covered in butterflies, an insect I’ve long seen as a symbol for gender. Their eyes are closed and their mouth is covered, because of the reaction the world currently has to gender identity.
